FaceTime was exclusive to iPhones, iPads, and Mac until Apple released the iOS 15 feature that has brought a little crack in the Apple’s ecosystem. The rise of telecommunication has been considered by Apple and they want their Videotelephony product, FaceTime, to be used across operating systems like Android and Windows. We will know about how Android and Windows users can join a FaceTime video call in this article.
Android users can be invited to FaceTime calls using the link that iOS 15 users will find inside the FaceTime app. The link can be copied and shared via any messaging apps or email and the receiver (Android/Windows user) must use the browser to join the call. Which means there is no FaceTime app outside iOS yet. Although only iOS users can host or initiate a video call on FaceTime. With many established video teleconferencing services, like Zoom and Google Meet, available in the market, we have to wait and see how useful this iOS 15 feature can turn out to be.

How to invite Android users to FaceTime calls.
- Unlock your iOS device and launch FaceTime.
- Tap on “Create Link.”
- You will find a Facetime link generated below the Upcoming section.
- Name your Facetime link and tap the “i” icon.
- Now, tap the “Share Link” option found in the menu that pops up.
- Select the medium through which you want to share the link to others. For example, Text messages, Mail, or WhatsApp.
