Apple has updated its website support page with the service and repair details for out-of-warranty HomePod and it will cost $279 (£269) to fix it. Apart Throw in a shipping fee of $20 US, or £13 for a mail-in repair. For those who are paying attention, that’s nearly as much as the HomePod speaker itself costs $350.
To avoid it, better get AppleCare+ with an extended warranty of two years may give good value. Even It seems silly to think about buying AppleCare+ for a speaker – But something bad may happen at any time (Maybe you own pets or your child accidentally knock your HomePod over).
