Instagram is one of the most popular social media apps for sharing photos and videos. With millions of active users the app still attracts youngsters around the world every day. Though it is a great app, we cannot download posts as we do on other social media platforms like Pinterest. There is an option given by Instagram to save our posts, which we will see in the latter part of this article, but we cannot download posts from other accounts.
We can take screenshots and use Screen Recorder to save the posts, but these techniques will affect the resolution of the pictures and videos. Below you will find how to download photos, videos, and stories from public accounts in Instagram.
How to download posts from Instagram
- Open Instagram and select the post you want to download.
- Tap the three dot icon that is found on the top right of the post and select “Copy Link.”
- Open your browser and search for “www.downloadgram.com”.
- Now paste the link you copied from Instagram.
- You will find the “Download Image” or “Download Video” button will appear below, click it and download the post to your device.
While this method can be used to save photos, videos, IGTVs, and Reels. To download stories search for “storiesig.app”. Enter the page name and you will see posts there, select the story you want to save and hit download. Note that posts from public accounts can only be downloaded using this technique.
Instagram allows us to download our own posts from its app. Use the following steps to download photos, videos, reels, and stories.
- Open Instagram and go to your account.
- Tap the menu icon in the top right corner.
- Select Settings which mostly will be the first option shown to you.
- Tap Account and you will see a list of options pop up.
- Select Original photos if you are an iPhone user or Original Posts if you are an Android user.
- Tap next to Save Posted Photos/Save Posted Videos to turn it on.
When this is done all the posts you post will automatically get saved to your phone’s library. When it comes to downloading stories, you will see a download option before you post, tap on it before you upload your story.
