LG launched its mobile payment system in South Korea last June and Yonhap News reports LG Pay is finally on its way to the US. “LG Electronics Inc said Tuesday it will launch its mobile payment system in the United States during the first half of this year in time with the release of its upcoming mobile phone… Based on the Wireless Magnetic Communication technology, LG Pay allows users to make payments by touching their smartphones to regular credit card devices… LG said it is considering launching its mobile payment system as LG Wallet in the US”. Android Police actually spotted an LG Wallet app in the Play Store a few days ago, but it has since been removed.
LG wants to do some more catching if it want do competition with Apple and Samsung pay. The Samsung pay currently available in 21 country is the biggest competitor in this market.
It is announced
that LG will launch its Payment system with G7 and V40 premium phones initially in the US and will expand the system to its mid-range pones.
