The honor one of the popular smartphone manufacturer which releases its mobile one after the other with latest features just launched its new Honor View 10 ( also known as Honor V10 ) smartphone. The great move by Honor to be a part of the midrange smartphone market. The Honor View 10 is the first mobile in 2018 to be released with almost all necessary features.
The build quality of the Honor view 10 is fantastic. It looks quite premium with the metallic body and the size of the phone is in the better range as it is comfortable to use in one hand. The phone has a 6-inch display and a Fingerprint sensor at the front. The USB type-C port with 3.5 mm headphone jack and a mono speaker is at the bottom. At the top, it has IR blaster and to the right, it has the volume and power button which are technically responsive. On the left, it has a sim card slot with hybrid SD card slot. The dual camera setup with the camera bumped out at the back is well noticed.
Thought it looks great the phone doesn’t have any water resistant features with it (Even the cheaper moto phone have IP67 water resistant to it). Even it doesn’t claim officially to have any display protection.
The v10 has almost 6 inch LCD display with the latest 18:9 display aspect ratio. The display is very sharp and gives a clear image. The viewing angles are quite decent and are pretty comparable with other smartphones at this price range. The display goes very dark at low light helps you to use the mobile for longer duration without eye strain. I feel the display of this mobile is quite better when compared with the others OLED display.
The Honor View 10 is packed with the combination of 2 rear cameras, one 16MP camera with RGB sensor and the other 20MP with a monochromatic sensor to capture detailed images. Together the camera takes detailed imaging with better dynamic range. It helps in taking professional shots without bothering much more about the object distance. Comming to the low light imaging it struggles more and suffers when compared to its competitors.
Coming to the 13MP front-facing camera the images are sharp but at times it gets overexposed during direct sunlight.
The AI used in this mobile helps in optimizing the camera setup automatically by identifying the kind of object. The AR effect and the background blur effect with the change in blurriness level are the added advantage. As like other flagships it also supports Bokeh mode at both front and back camera. The phone doesn’t support Optical Image Stabilization (OSI) and thus the handshakes are well notices.
The Honor view 10 is powered by Hisilicon Kirin 970 with 6 GB of RAM with 128GB internal storage. Despite having a huge memory, It can also support 128GB of External storage. The performance of the phone is quite incredible. Surely it is one of the midrange flagship considering its powerful performance.
The v10 runs on Android Oreo under the EMUI custom ROM which is one of the top ten UI used. The EMUI in this mobile offers many different features than its previous versions. The UI almost have all the Oreo features and even support google feeds. Coming to the usability the UI is very snappy and well stable and is highly customizable. Some features at the lock screen like using few basic apps without unlocking the mobile are the added advantages. It is expected that the new Face unlock, with more security features will surely be enabled in the upcoming updates.
The fingerprint sensor located beneath the display is well accessible and is well responsive. The sensor also acts as the gesture control for navigation as like in the Moto mobiles.
The phone has 3750 mAh battery by this, it runs a full day with media streaming and browsing without going to zero. Though it is quite good it is not that great as OnePlus 5T like ones. It also comes with a supercharger which helps to charge the battery from 0 to 58% in 30 min ( Which is enough for one day use). But the absence of Wireless charging is quite noticeable.
The Honor view 10 ( Honor v10) meats almost all the basic requirements to be the midrange flagship. By considering the usability, Specification, price and the performance it is surely worth to by this one at this price range.
