Honor 7X Gets Face Unlock Feature via OTA Update

Honor 7X getting face unlock feature via OTA update to compete with Redmi Note 5 Pro complete roll out by mid-March.

Here is the good news for the Honor 7X users. Huawei’s e-brand Honor on Monday announced the official rollout of Face Unlock update for its Honor 7X smartphone. The smartphone is the third device in Honor’s portfolio to get Face Unlock features. Face Unlock feature was first rolled out to the company’s flagship the Honor View 10 and then to Honor 9 Lite, making the Honor 7X the third smartphone in its lineup to receive this feature.

Honor said that the Face Unlock feature will be available via OTA (over the air) update in a phased manner and will complete the rollout by the mid-March 2018.

With this update Honor 7X becomes one of the cheapest smartphones to support the facial recognition mechanism to unlock the device. Honor explains that the updated EMUI detects the positioning between you and the phone and adjusts the direction accordingly using the front-camera and recognise the user to unlock the phone.
