Google Pixel 2 users reporting device heating, slow charging below certain temperatures and battery life issues after February update
A lot of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners started complaining about their devices getting warm (even with normal usage) and lower battery life on their mobiles. According to them, this is due to the Google’s February security patch.
Users on Twitter, Reddit, and Google’s own Pixel 2 product forums have detailed their experiences and many have confirmed these issues while the device is in safe mode. Though Google hasn’t officially commented on this issues, Google’s community specialists suggest that the overheating and battery loss might not be tied to any kind of software problem. To support it, Some users are telling that they aren’t facing any issues as of now, But the number is very few.
Slow charging
Some users also reported that The charging speed of the smartphone slowdown when the phone drops below a certain temperature. Folks over at Android Police did some detailed testing and found that’s indeed the case, at least with the Pixel 2 XL, which they observed charges at less than 4W in low-temperature conditions despite claiming to be charging quickly (10W+). For its part, Google has just said the company is investigating the matter.
