How to set up Google routine.
Connect your mobile device or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network that your smart speaker is connected to before you start the process. Even you can set up routines for your smartphone without a smart speaker.
- Open the Google Home/Google Assistance app and tap Routines.
- From the list of ready-made routines given select one to edit.
Note: If google home is not found on your device, Long press the Home button will start google assistant, just type of voice command Google Assistance with the “Google Assistance Settings/Google Routine Settings” command to open it.
Tap the boxes next to the activities you want Google Assistant to perform also add more actions if you want.
- To create your own custom Routine, Tap on the Add button “+”
- Enter the command that you want to say to trigger the Routine under “When….” option.
- Tap OK and Save.
- Add action (what the Assistant should do) under the “Assistant will…..” option.
- Tap on Add media to select media source and customize it to your will.
- Tao Add and Save.
We can also schedule our Routines to happen at a given time on particular days. This will automatically trigger the routine and the activities under the routine will be taken care of without our commands. Follow these steps to set it up.
To schedule Routines.
- Add the command to trigger a Routine though it will be performed automatically.
- Now tap on Set a time and day.
- Choose a time for your Routine and choose which days it should repeat.
- If you use more than one speaker tap on “Choose which speaker will start it” and select the speaker.
- You can also get notified about the Routines on your phones by checking the box given.
- Tap Save after customizing the Routine and wait for it to perform the activities.
The Routines can be edited whenever we want to change the activities that we want the Assistant to do for us.
