Apple released iOS 11.2.6 now with a fix for the Telugu character bug that causes crashes to Springboard and some other apps.
Apple today released iOS 11.2.6, approximately a month after its previous update – iOS 11.2.5. The earlier 11.2.5 update was introduced to support HomePod along with Control Center updates, Siri news, and a slew of bug fixes. After a week many users complained that their phone gets crashed when a message with a particulate Indian language character was sent or received in certain Apps. The bug will crash the entire iPhone, even if a notification card or banner containing the character pops up on the device. If that happens, the Springboard software, which serves as the iOS app launcher, appears to crash, forcing you to reboot or reset your device in order to make it work again.
