How to Keep the Android Smartphone Screen On Longer

Simple settings to Keep the Screen Awake on your Android smartphone

Users get frustrated when their Android phone or Tablet turns off automatically while reading or gawking interesting things. This nature of an Android phone can be changed/modified using different ways. We will walk you through how you can keep your screen awake all the time or for longer periods.

Basically, there are three methods that can be used to keep your Android phone or Tablet awake. While two of them can be done inside the phone Settings, the third method needs a third-party app.

How to Keep the Screen Active for Long Using Display Settings

Most of the Android devices allow us to adjust the sleep settings using in-built options. This method is simple and the phone can be made to stay awake for a maximum of 30 minutes without any activity. Follow the steps below.

  • Launch the Settings app on your Android device.
  • Tap on Display.
  • Select the Sleep option from the list displayed.
  • Choose how long you want your phone to be awake from the options Given.

After selecting the phone will immediately activate the setting. Note that different phones have different options. For example, the Sleep option inside Display can be named as Screen Timeout. This totally depends on the model you use. Also, if you don’t find any similar options, search inside the Advance settings.

Always on Display.

While keeping the phone awake for 30 minutes sounds enough, some want their phone to never turn off. For this reason, some Android phones have the in-built Always On Display option. This method is similar to the previous one.

  • Open Settings on your Android phone/ Tablet
  • Select Display Settings.
  • Tap on Always On Display.
  • Now turn on the toggle next to it.

Depending on the manufacturer and the versions of Android this option might differ. Some of the alternate names for this feature are Always-on Panel, Ambient Display, and Always show Time and Display.

How to Keep Smartphone Screen On Using third-party apps.

If your phone does not have the Always on feature, don’t worry. There is always an app for everything on the Play Store. Use the Caffeine – Keep Screen On app to keep your phone on all the time. Use the link below to download the app and follow the steps after it.

  • Download and Install the app from the Play Store.
  • Pull down from your home screen to open the Quick Settings panel.
  • Tap on the Edit icon (Pencil).
  • Select the Coffee mug icon (Caffeine – Keep Screen On app) and drag it to your quick settings.
  • Now turn on the toggle.

Now your phone will never turn off automatically until you use your power button. While this app is a good option, there are other apps like Screen Alive which can be used to serve the same purpose. Use the link below to download Screen Alive from the Play store and try it.
