Google’s project named Reply wants to add Smart Replies to all your messaging apps
Apart from its mainstream project Google always working on much more experimental research projects, and the Area 120 is one among them. This small workshop for Google’s experimental products is dedicated in creating unique apps and services. One of Area 120’s latest projects is called “Reply”, and its goal is to bring Smart Replies to all of other messaging apps.
Smart Reply is a feature that could automatically recommend replies based on the context of messages you received. Google announced a new feature for Inbox and it later expanded to the likes of Allo and Android Messages. An email sent by Area 120’s Early Access Program, confirms that Reply is said to work with Hangouts, Allo, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Android Messages, Skype, Slack, and even Twitter DMs. As you can see in the screenshot below. Though looks a lot like Google’s native Smart Replies, It was developed even better.
Another screenshot shared in the mail confirms that this Smart Reply was elevated them to the next level. For example, like Google maps upcoming feature of sharing the expected time of arrival – The Smart Reply itself to determine and answer the expected time of arrival if you get a text from your significant other asking when you’ll be home?.
It seems the Reply came with much more features and a possible integration with other gadgets like calendar to automate the reply and new messages. Though Reply is a great project, Its in the hand of Google whether to release or not (Even there is a chance that Google will scrap the project). However, it takes a long time to come up for public launch even if Google wants.
